Engine rod knock causes

Definitely be sure to also read the map notes for your vehicle to confirm you have the proper hardware modifications for the map you are running. Although mine is a Sprinter Van, I'm guessing where it is a diesel engine diagnostic problem, I'd ask here. My van with only 28k miles has just started doing something that sounds very similar to this. The motor makes a knocking (sounds kind of like a rod rap noise) but only between 1400 r.p.m. to maybe 1900 r.p.m. .
