Although mine is a Sprinter Van, I'm guessing where it is a diesel engine diagnostic problem, I'd ask here. My van with only 28k miles has just started doing something that sounds very similar to this. The motor makes a knocking (sounds kind of like a rod rap noise) but only between 1400 r.p.m. to maybe 1900 r.p.m. .
